Develop a global quality engagement framework
Recommendation 1
International together with the regions will establish, promote and maintain a global quality standard engagement framework for practitioners
Recommendation 2
International will maintain contact information of certified professionals and list them on the IAP2 international website
Recommendation 3
International together with the regions will establish a process and tools to certify engagement processes, practice and systems around the world
This is a very interesting Strategic Direction, and one that has a lot of scope and value back to members. I look forward to seeing how this is delivered and the resources that might be developed.
I am interested in the standardization of the most common practices of Public Participation.
If we can't agree, for example, on what qualifies as a "public hearing" or a "public information session" (and what does not), then how can we, as IAP2, explain to others anything more complicated?
If IAP2 wants to set and maintain standards of P2 practice, then it needs to create a Standards Committee which, of course, would attempt to operate as a model of IAP2 Core Valiues and "best practices".
