(Re)imagining our future
This process has concluded. Information about next steps will be available soon.
In 2015, the Federation Board sought input and advice on the appropriate roles and responsibilities for the Federation and the Affiliates and the Federation Board summarised this here.
In 2016, when the Federation Board asked for further input on a funding model, we noticed a shift in how members viewed the roles and responsibilities of the Federation and its Affiliates. The Federation Board came to a realisation - perhaps we are trying to fix a model that is broken beyond repair? We decided that we needed to reimagine our future.

Your input will be used to shape the agenda for Denver.

Based on your feedback above, what model would you imagine for an international body/network/connection?
almost 6 years agoThe Federation currently consists of a Board made up of representatives from Affiliates, supported by four part-time staff members and funded from licence fees paid by Foundations trainers. If we were starting over, what would an international body, network or connection look like? We’ve made some suggestions here to get you going.
mandi.davidsonalmost 6 years agoNothing formal
There should be no formal international body - just a network of national/regional Chairs who meet annually
0mandi.davidsonalmost 6 years agoKeeper of the gold
There should be an international governance body solely responsible for the IP (including assessment of new training products, standards and accreditation)

The Federation (or whatever organizational title is developed) would ensure IAP2-owned trainings are kept up to date, trainers are recruited and vetted, trainings are marketed across affiliates and new organization-wide trainings are developed as necessary.

I look forward to a robust discussion to identify a vision for IAP2's future and a structure to enable it
2kate.vallenceover 5 years agoA model that establishes affiliates and leads research
Affiliates would be established with the assistance of the international board, but would be responsible for their own membership and training (could offer a mix of country and international training models). The international board would be the leader for research, reviews, scholarships and global conventions for all affiliates.

1SRWUSAover 5 years agoEating the Elephants in the Room - A sustainable future for IAP2
The IAP2 Federation and all of it's affiliates are at a major crossroad. The status quo is not sustainable for a vibrant global federation. Heading down the current path will likely be the end of the "I" in AP2. Put there are turns we can take to be better, sustainable to achieve our aspirational goals.
